Last night Nova 96.9s Fitzy & Wippa held a special Married At First Sight event – Fitzy & Wippa’s Married at First Sight Dinner Party. Held at the Shutter Restaurant, Coogee, MAFS fans were treated to a night with their favourite (and not-so-favourite) MAFS stars and had the chance to post a question in the Honesty Box.
Stars of this season in attendance were Bryce and Melissa, Belinda and Patrick, Joanne, and Brett.
Joining the MAFS stars and Listeners were Nova’s Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald, Michael ‘Wippa’ Wipfli (who both hosted the night), along with co-host Sarah McGilvray and newsreader Matt de Groot.
Attracting a lot of the attention was Bryce and Melissa, this season’s most controversial couple. Melissa said that Bryce was the most genuine person she’s ever met. When asked about what she likes about Bryce, she said “Definitely his personality…unless there’s another secret girlfriend that wants to come out tonight! He is very genuine, he was 100% the most genuine kindest person I’ve met.”
Speaking about one of the most controversial moments of the season – in which Bryce wrote ‘leave’ on his notepad, then crossed it out and wrote ‘stay’ – Fitzy asked if that was just to create drama for the show.
Bryce replied “No, the bullying that was happening, I thought you know what you’re not on a national TV show every day if someone is going to do that and I was going to pull it up, I didn’t want to do it. Right or wrong I have said what I said, I don’t regret what I did at all but it did hurt Melissa. I probably should’ve had this chat but at the end of the day I wrote stay because we didn’t want Rebecca to hurt us as a couple, if we let Rebecca and her words hurt us as a couple well then she’s won”
Meanwhile, in Melbourne, Nova 100 were hosting their own MAFS cocktail party, where contestant Sam said that the final dinner party “like a Jerry Springer episode.”
