In the latest unveiling from Stan Originals, the first-look trailer has been released for its upcoming series, The Tattooist of Auschwitz, featuring Hollywood veteran Harvey Keitel, slated to premiere exclusively on Stan on May 2nd.
The teaser trailer offers a glimpse into the emotional journey of protagonist Lali Sokolov, played by Keitel, as he recounts his haunting memories of Auschwitz to Heather Morris, portrayed by Melanie Lynskey.
The Tattooist of Auschwitz in inspired by the real-life love story of Lali and Gita Sokolov, portrayed in the series by Jonah Hauer-King and Anna Próchniak respectively, who met as prisoners amidst the horrors of the Auschwitz concentration camp in Nazi-occupied Poland during World War II.
Adapted from the best-selling novel by Heather Morris, this six-part limited drama promises to deliver a moving portrayal of love amidst the darkest of circumstances.
The Tattooist of Auschwitz is the latest addition to the Stan Originals catalogue, as the streaming service continues to demonstrate an ongoing emphasis on original dramas. Mediaweek has noted that in 2024, there’s a notable shift towards accessing Australian drama via streaming platforms rather than traditional free-to-air broadcasts.

Earlier this month, Stan and the Australian Children’s Television Foundation (ACTF) released the trailer for the upcoming Stan Original Film Windcatcher, starring Australian singer, songwriter and actress Jessica Mauboy, which will premier March 28.
Stan and BBC also announced the renewal of the Stan Original drama series Ten Pound Poms for a second season, building upon the its runaway success in both Australia and the UK, with filming having commenced mid-February.
