• The new hires following an increase in audience and demand for new-car content

Drive.com.au has welcomed two new editorial hires, adding even greater depth to what is already the most experienced team of motoring journalists in Australia.

Veteran motoring editor Paul Gover and Jordan Mulach join the motoring news and reviews website following an increase in its audience and multi-channel profile across digital, TV, radio, and social media platforms – and a spike in demand for new-car content in the wake of the pandemic.

Gover, who joins as a senior journalist, has been a motoring writer for more than 40 years across newspapers, magazines, websites, radio and television. A qualified general news journalist and sports reporter – including more than 20 years at News Corp Australia’s Herald Sun – Gover’s passion for motoring originally led him to Wheels, Motor, Car Australia, Which Car and Auto Action magazines.

Mulach, who joins Drive as a news journalist, also has extensive experience in the industry, previously writing for Auto Action, Which Car, Wheels, Motor and Street Machine magazines.

They join a team of more than a dozen motoring journalists based in Drive’s Sydney and Melbourne offices.

The publication is headed by director of content James Ward and his leadership team including managing editor Trent Nikolic, national motoring editor Joshua Dowling and head of content, Glenn Butler.

“Drive prides itself on its independent, honest and thorough editorial coverage of the car industry and the new-car buying process,” said Ward.

“We know there is a lot of change happening in the automotive world, with motorists wanting to know more about electric vehicles, new technology and entirely new brands, all making this the most exciting time for new car buyers that we have ever seen.

“Drive can now provide even more content to appeal to a broader range of readers and TV viewers including on Nine.com.au, 9Now and on the digital home pages of The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Paul and Jordan to our team, with their appointments cementing Drive’s position as the clear leader in the motoring editorial space,” the director of content added.
