Daily Mail expands into video podcasts with The Debrief
Deputy Showbusiness Editor Savanna Young hosts the weekly podcast, launching with guest Matt Zukowski's marriage reveal.

The Daily Mail has launched a new weekly video podcast, The Debrief, hosted by Deputy Showbusiness Editor Savanna Young, that unpacks celebrity news, red-carpet moments, and shopping trends for viewers.
The first episode, live now on Daily Mail's YouTube channel, Spotify and Apple Podcasts, features reality TV personality Matt Zukowski, who discusses his failed marriage to Tammy Hembrow.
The show covers cryptic texts, Hollywood headlines, influencer drama and the products making their way into celebrity shopping carts, according to Daily Mail.
It airs on Daily Mail's YouTube channel, which has attracted more than 22 million views since its relaunch.
A new revenue play
The Debrief opens a new commercial inventory line for the publisher, offering brands the chance to sponsor episodes, create tailored segments, run product integrations, host interviews and giveaways, and build other bespoke campaigns.
Multimedia Director and the show's producer, Yvette Kelly, said the move into video podcasts followed the success of an earlier format.
"Expanding into YouTube and podcasts has been an exciting yet natural move for the Australian arm of Daily Mail," Kelly said.

"The Debrief will be very similar in style to our MAFS Unleashed Podcast, which we ran during Married at First Sight earlier this year. MAFS Unleashed pulled 1.5 million views on YouTube alone – and millions more across TikTok, Instagram and Facebook."
Kelly said the video podcast format also created new commercial pathways.
"While the video podcast focuses on the biggest celebrity news and lifestyle conversations, it also creates opportunities for brands to become part of the content through sponsorships, product integrations and branded segments," she said.
"We look forward to giving our guests an unfiltered space to share anything they want with our talented host, production crew and, in turn, our loyal audience."
Brand partnership push
Head of Commercial Content, Sarah Fitzmaurice, said the format was designed with advertisers in mind.
"The Debrief provides our brand partners with the opportunity to integrate into industry-leading entertainment content, tapping into Daily Mail's highly engaged, celebrity-obsessed audiences at scale," Fitzmaurice said.
"This exciting new video podcast format provides brands with the opportunity to seamlessly integrate into visually powerful creator-led editorial content, offering extensive commercial and creative opportunities."
New channel to house the content
The Debrief launch coincides with a new secondary YouTube channel from Daily Mail, bringing together entertainment, showbiz, lifestyle and shopping content under one banner, as part of the publisher's expanding new media strategy.
