Grant Broadcasters has appointed long term afternoon host Craig Pitman to join Molly Rose on Power FM Breakfast in 2022.
Pitman’s dedication to the craft, his innate creativity, love of the local community and his willingness to get up ridiculously early all combined to make him a natural choice to partner Rose on Power FM next year.
Pitman lives in the Adelaide Hills with his wife and two young children. “His love of turning local stories into more than just a talk break is a credit to him and his craft and I can’t wait to hear him with Molly Rose in 2022.” says Power FM content director Adam Connelly.
Station manager Dave Shearer says “I first met Craig as a fresh faced kid so it’s a delight to see him with the ability to achieve his professional potential.”
Pitman will replace Damon Adams who, after more than 1000 shows, has taken an off air role in Adelaide.
The first Power FM Breakfast Show with Molly and Craig will be heard on 98.7, 99.7 and 100.3 FM in the Adelaide Hills, South Coast and Murraylands on January 17, 2022.
Earlier this month, ARN’s parent company HT&E announced its acquisition of Grant Broadcasters, giving advertisers the potential to reach over 90% of Australians nation-wide.
The acquisition includes radio and digital operations across 46 Grant’s stations and will combine with ARN’s existing 13 stations.
“We weren’t looking to sell the business when we received an unsolicited offer from HT&E,” Alison Cameron, CEO of Grant Broadcasters, told Mediaweek, not long after the ASX had been alerted about the deal to sell most of the family’s network of stations across Australia to HT&E.
“I said we were not for sale,” Cameron continued. “I added that if they wanted us to consider it, the offer had better be attractive.” She explained Grant Broadcasters had a number of offers over the years, but nothing concrete or anything worth seriously considering.”
