carsales has launched Nexgate, a new SaaS platform for automotive dealerships and OEM retail teams.

The platform combines vehicle sourcing, inventory management, pricing, and customer engagement in one system, using carsales’ first-party market data and AI to recommend actions based on buyer activity.

carsales built Nexgate in-house as part of expanding its technology offering for dealerships and automotive manufacturers.

New platform for dealers and OEMs

Nexgate is designed to work alongside systems already used by dealerships, consolidating information, reports and tools into a single platform.

carsales EGM, marketing, content and customer Rafael Constantinou said the launch reflected the company’s development of its technology offering.

“We wanted a name that was memorable and distinctly ours. One that matches the transformation we’ve undertaken, while still feeling like carsales," Constantinou said.

“Nexgate is a reflection of how we want all of our customers - dealers, OEM partners and consumers - to experience carsales: simpler, more connected, and created around the way they actually work. Consumer expectations keep rising, and this gives our partners the technology to meet them.”

“For us, ‘Next’ is a commitment to keep moving, keep evolving and keep building beyond what was possible before. It's a proud moment, and there's still a lot more to come.”

carsales expands technology offering

carsales chief executive officer Craig Fraser said the platform was developed to help dealerships use information across their businesses more efficiently.

"Time is one of the most valuable resources in any dealership," Fraser said.

"Teams have more information available to them than ever before, but turning that into confident decisions quickly isn't easy. Nexgate was built to help. It brings the insights and tools dealerships and OEMs rely on every day into one place, helping them see opportunities sooner and focus their time where it matters most. The goal isn't more information; it's knowing the next best move."

Nexgate was first revealed at the 2026 Australian Automotive Dealer Association Convention, followed by an out-of-home campaign and advertising in dealer publications.

The platform is launching with digital and social activity, as well as direct-to-dealership activations around Australia.

Dealer partners will have access to the full Nexgate platform for an initial three-month period. After that, access to individual features will depend on each dealer’s subscriptions.

carsales said it will introduce additional Nexgate capabilities over the coming months.
