The Sports Entertainment Network talent agency Bravo Management has signed two new clients. Joining the stable are tennis great Mark Philippoussis (above) and Tokyo 2020 Olympic bronze medal-winning decathlete Ash Moloney.
Bravo Talent Management founder and managing director Chris Giannopoulos told Mediaweek Moloney will head to the World Championships in July next year ahead of being a favourite to take Gold in the 2022 Commonwealth Games before turning his sights to Paris 2024. “We are really excited to be assisting Ash on his journey,” said Giannopoulos.
Meanwhile Philippoussis joins Bravo fresh from competition on the just-finished series of Seven’s SAS Australia. “He gave Australian audiences a greater insight into what Mark is really like more than ever before and we look forward to partnering up Mark with the right brands into the future,” added Giannopoulos.
Already with a swag of achievements and records to his name, experts say that the best is still to come from the 21-year-old Queenslander Moloney who hails from Logan.
The past five years have seen Moloney take giant leaps in his career. In 2017, he broke the U/18 Australian record, before breaking the Australian record and Oceania record later that year with a points total of 8,492.
In 2018, Moloney won Gold at the 2018 World Junior Championships, breaking the Competition Record and Oceania Junior Record with a points total of 8,190. With that win, he put the world on notice as a star to look out for in the future.
A former Top 10 ranked tennis player on the World Tour, Mark Philippoussis was a tough opponent on his day who had a thunderous first serve and a powerful baseline and volley game to match.
Climbing as high as Number 8 in the world in 1999, his greatest tennis achievements came in 1998 where he appeared in the US Open Final and 2003 where he made the decider at Wimbledon. Philippoussis also has fond memories of his Davis Cup career where he represented Australia and won the deciding rubbers to take out the title in 1999 and 2003.
Now at the age of 44, Philippoussis reflects on his professional career with no regrets on the way he approached his matches and the style in which he attempted to win.
While Covid has put a pause on his tennis, Philippoussis is looking forward to re-joining the Champion’s Tour and being able to travel the world. However, for the moment his focus and energy is spent on his family, along with his clothing label As We Create.
