This week the Australian Box Office made a total of $7.76 million, which is up 14% from last week’s $6.77 million.
The big new entrant to the list is The Conjuring 3: The Devil Made Me Do It. The film is a sequel to 2013’s The Conjuring and 2016’s The Conjuring 2, and marks the eighth installment in the Conjuring universe. Debuting to the top of the Box Office this week, The Conjuring 3 has already cracked the $2 million barrier in its opening weekend and is coming close to $3 million.
Dropping out of the top five this week is Peter Rabbit 2, which has been hopping along steadily since the Easter long weekend.
#1 The Conjuring 3: The Devil Made Me Do It, $2.89 million
Taking viewers back to the universe that gave us The Conjuring, Annabelle, and The Nun, The Conjuring 3: The Devil Made Me Do It opened to an impressive average of $8,998 across 321 screens.
#2 A Quiet Place Part II, $1.89 million
Continuing the theme of scaring the pants off of moviegoers, John Krasinski’s horror sequel has made an average of $4,314 across 438 screens this week. In week two of release, the film has made a total of $7.84 million.
#3 Cruella, $1.35 million
The third live-action adaptation in the 101 Dalmatians franchise took an average of $4,302 across 313 screens this week. It has made a total of $3.32 million so far.
#4 Wrath of Man, $276,362
There is a significant drop off between third and fourth place this week, with Wrath of Man making just under $300,000 in its sixth week of release. It has made a total of $6.95 million so far, with this week averaging $1,655 over 167 screens.
#5 Those Who Wish Me Dead, $185,723
Rounding out the top five this week, Those Who Wish Me Dead averaged $988 over 188 screens, taking its total earnings to $3.10 million.
