This week the Australian Box Office made a total of $7.76 million, which is down 5% from last week’s $8.13 million.
In a big week for horses, entering the top five this week are Dream Horse, the true story of Dream Alliance, an unlikely race horse bred by Welsh bartender Jan Vokes and Spirit Untamed, a spin-off of 2002’s Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron.
Dropping out of the top five this week are Wrath of Man and Those Who Wish Me Dead.
#1, The Conjuring 3: The Devil Made Me Do It, $2.22 million
Taking viewers back to the universe that gave us The Conjuring, Annabelle, and The Nun, The Conjuring 3: The Devil Made Me Do It pulled in an impressive average of $6,637 across 335 screens. This takes the film to a total of $5.90 million.
#2, A Quiet Place Part II, $1.65 million
John Krasinski’s sequel to 2018’s A Quiet Place has made an average of $4,049 across 407 screens this week. In week three of release, the film has come tantalizing close to cracking the $10 million mark, making a total of $9,997,117.
#3, Cruella, $1.33 million
The latest live-action adaptation from Disney gives viewers the backstory of one of their most iconic villains. Cruella made an average of $3,859 across 344 screens. It has made a total of $5 million in its third week of release.
#4, Dream Horse, $681,142
Entering the box office charts this week, Dream Horse made $2,270 across 300 screens. The film has been around for a little while now, making its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2020 before being released in the United States in May 2021, and in Australia on June 10th 2021.
#5, Spirit Untamed, $659,153
Making an average of $2,817 across 234 screens in its first week of release, Spirit Untamed continues the story of Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron and is based on the Netflix animated spin-off television series Spirit Riding Free.
