BBC Studios Australia and New Zealand has announced the appointment of Ashley Urquhart as senior account manager on the advertising sales team, based in Melbourne.
Urquhart joins BBC Studios from pure.amplify and will work to offer domestic and international commercial opportunities across BBC.com and BBC World News.
The newly appointed senior account manager will focus on developing business from media agencies and direct client customers across Victoria and South Australia, with a particular focus on brands from across the B2B, auto and travel sectors.
Urquhart will also be concentrating on managing relationships with key programmatic partners, helping buyers get access to the very best of BBC inventory and supporting them through the transition towards a cookie-less future.
Jamie Chambers, VP advertising & distribution ANZ for BBC Studios, said: “With market confidence returning after the pandemic and exceptionally strong business performance over the past 18 months, we feel now is the right time for us to rebuild our presence in Melbourne to ensure we can offer Victorian and South Australian-based clients and agencies the best of what BBC Studios can offer.
“In particular, we’ve seen major growth coming out of the finance, B2B and auto sectors along with the return of the travel sector, and with the concentration of businesses from within those sectors coming out of that region, we want to make sure we are well placed to support brandsm” she added,
This follows the recent appointment of Simon Lopez as head of strategy of BBC Studios Australia and New Zealand.
