Ausfilm, Australia’s screen industry association responsible for attracting international film and television productions to Australia, has appointed Simon Graham-Clare to the role of vice president of international production, based in Los Angeles.
In the role, Simon will work with US and Australian screen production clients and Ausfilm members to attract film, television, and picture post, sound, music, VFX and animation to Australia.
Simon’s role includes marketing Australia’s production tax incentives, providing advice to international filmmakers looking to work in Australia, and coordinating with Australian state government screen agencies on location pitches for international clients.
Simon has a wealth of international film and television experience, having worked for Warner Bros. Pictures UK before joining the UK Film Council in LA (now the British Film Commission), promoting British incentives, production facilities and filmmaking talent. He has also been a producer and financier for a range of companies including Future Films, digital production company Dance On, and has experience with Ausfilm as a client.
Ausfilm’s executive vice president of international production, Erin Stam said “We are thrilled that Simon will be joining our team in LA. He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge of the US and international entertainment industry, and he will help us provide greater value to our clients and members in this very exciting time following the Australian Government’s recent announcement of the 30% Location Offset.”
Simon said of his appointment, “I am very excited to introduce my large, international network of contacts to the great opportunities for filmmakers who choose Australia for their next project. Just as inspiring are the Ausfilm members, and I am proud to convey the benefits of working with these world-class production partners.”
Simon commences in the role on May 30, 2023.
