Ian Warner joins independent advertising services agency Audience Group as group account director.
Warner steps into the role after spending the last ten years as director and co-owner of media agency, Moonlighting. His extensive career includes 15 years in media strategy at the likes of DDB, Halmarick Media Services and Smart Media.
He also spent more than a decade in client services director roles at UM Australia and Universal McCann.
On his appointment, Warner said the agency was leading in its use of technology and analytics to give advertisers opportunities for success and hopes to offer that to their clients.
Warner said he would be making negotiations for the best rates a top priority for clients to ensure they have the “best possible buying power”
“But I’m impressed with Audience Group’s track record of negotiating for first-in-market opportunities. I’m keen to help clients benefit from early access to new and innovative advertising products,” he added.
Tom Evans, Audience Group’s managing director, said the agency is working hard becoming a driving force for the future of advertising.
“To get that right we combine proven experience with the latest in advertising science and applied technology. Ian will fit right in,” he added.
Warner’s appointment comes after Audience Group commenced its journey to net zero emissions and is now a certified carbon-neutral organisation, covering Scope 1, Scope 2 and some Scope 3 emissions.
The independent advertising services and media agency selected Trace to measure, reduce and compensate for its carbon emissions and support its efforts towards becoming a net zero business.
Trace is an Australian-based organisation that makes it simple and credible for organisations to manage their carbon emissions.
Evans said: “Striving for carbon neutrality is table stakes. Not only because this is the way we intend to run our own business but because this is how Audience Group helps our clients make advertising decisions that support their ESG objectives.”
