ARN has renewed its partnership with the Victoria Racing Club (VRC) for 2023, which will see its suite of brands play key roles in activating and supporting the 2023 Melbourne Cup Carnival.
As a valued VRC audio partner, ARN will activate at Flemington Racecourse across the Melbourne Cup Carnival via both the KIIS 101.1 and iHeart Brands.
During the lead up to the iconic race week, KIIS 101.1’s Jase & Lauren will be launching a competition, where a race caller will be commentating lyrics for listeners to call up and guess the song correctly to win a VIP race day experience, including a double pass and a $1000 makeover for Lexus Melbourne Cup Day.
KIIS 101.1 will also be providing premium entertainment in The Nursery for members, featuring the hottest tunes spun on their very own KIIS Stage. iHeart will be activating in the brand-new festival-style area “Palooza”, taking over the space, hosting a 360° photobooth, and running an exclusive competition to win the trip to the iHeart Jingle Ball in the US!
Lauren Joyce, ARN chief strategy and connections officer, said of the partnership announcement: “We always love working with VRC, especially for a week that is so ingrained into Melbourne’s sporting and lifestyle culture. Spring sparks a great sense of positivity and anticipation for warm sunny days in Melbourne and we’re delighted to be providing the soundtrack for the season, via this partnership.
“The combination of broadcasting trackside fun by KIIS 101.1’s Jase & Lauren as well as entertainment in The Palooza from iHeart, will mean all Melbournians can join in the fun, whether they’re at the races on not.”
Jo King, VRC executive general manager brand, marketing and communications, thanked ARN for their support of Australia’s original major event, the Melbourne Cup Carnival.
“ARN has been an important partner of the VRC for over six years and through their wide and engaged network we can share the magic of the Melbourne Cup Carnival with Australians,” Mrs King said.
ARN’s partnership with VRC officially kicks off from 4 November on Penfolds Derby Day and can be heard on air via KIIS 101.1.
