ARN has announced several changes to the KIIS content team after a restructure focusing on growth and continued success across the country.
Tony Aldridge will make the move from Melbourne to Sydney, transitioning into the role of KIIS 1065 content director.
Aldridge is a much-loved member of the radio community, having over 25 years of experience in creating innovative content and leading teams both in the UK and Australia, including at renowned brands such as Heart, Capital FM, Mix 102.3 and most recently KIIS 101.1.
The newly appointed KIIS 1065 content director said of his new role: “I am so excited to be given this opportunity to head up Australia’s biggest and by far best radio station in KIIS 1065. What is even more exciting is to get the opportunity to work with the world’s best breakfast show – Kyle and Jackie O.”
Stepping into Aldridge’s role with the KIIS Melbourne team is Adrian Brine as content director of KIIS 101.1. He is currently the chief operations officer at Audata, previously holding a number of roles at Southern Cross Austereo.
Brine said of re-joining the radio industry: “After two years away from radio, where the only ‘Secret Sounds’ I’ve heard are my baby crying at 3am, and the arguments with my wife over who’s turn it is to ‘Beat the Bomb’ in his nappy…we both decided it was time for me to head back to work.
“This opportunity at KIIS Melbourne has come at the perfect time, and I’m excited to get back to doing what I do best – making great content with passionate, creative people.
“In all seriousness, ARN is a powerhouse in audio right now so it’s great to be joining the company at such an exciting time of growth. It was always going to take something special to get me back to radio and this gig ticks all the boxes. An incredible brand, an opportunity to make real impact, and the chance to head back to a city I know and love.”
These changes follow the promotion of former head of content KIIS Sydney and Melbourne Derek ‘DB’ Bargwanna to the newly created role of head of KIIS Network, which includes overseeing all the KIIS content teams across the country.
Both Aldridge and Brine will lead their teams in Sydney and Melbourne respectively and will report into Bargwanna. Both start their new positions from August 8.
