Brisbane four-piece Cub Sport have claimed a #1 debut on this week’s ARIA Albums Chart with their fifth studio album, Jesus At The Gay Bar, while Miley Cyrus’ reign at the top of the Singles Chart has ended.
Jesus At The Gay Bar marks the second ARIA top 10 album and first #1 for Cub Sport, who said: “Jesus At The Gay Bar is such an important chapter of our story and to see it connect like this is more than we could have hoped for.
“We’ve been a band for over a decade and to achieve our first #1 record with our fifth album is incredible. So proud of the four of us for the years of hard work and for building to this moment as a self-managed and independent band. Above all, we’re so grateful to our beautiful fans – thank you so much for making this dream come true!”

A second Aussie debut, The Cup of Pestilence by punk rockers Frenzal Rhomb, claims #1 on the Vinyl Albums Chart, also making it to #12 on the Albums Chart. It is the band’s 10th studio album, and their first new studio album in six years. Their best performer to date was Hi-Vis High Tea, which topped out at #9 in 2017. Frenzal Rhomb have been nominated for two ARIA Awards in 1999 and a third in 2000.
Coming in at #2 on the Albums Chart is HOPE by Michigan-born, singer-songwriter and producer NF. Real name Nathan John Feuerstein, HOPE is NF’s fifth studio album and his second in the top 50 after The Search peaked at #3 in 2019. His mixtape Clouds did, however, make it to #5 in 2021.
The 20th anniversary re-issue of Linkin Park’s second album, Meteora, scrapes into the top 10 at #8, including previously unreleased material featuring vocals from the late Chester Bennington. The original version of Meteora peaked at #2 in 2003 and has been certified four times platinum.
The Singles Chart has its first new #1 in 13 weeks as Last Night by Morgan Wallen ends Miley Cyrus’ 12-week reign with Flowers. It is the American country uber-star’s first chart-topper in Australia, after You Proof peaked at #20 last year. Wallen’s recent #1 album, One Day At A Time, moves up one place to #3 on the Albums Chart.
The highest ranking Australian single this week comes from The Kid Laroi, teaming up with Justin Beiber on Stay at #37.
