Award-winning journalist Antoinette Lattouf is joining LiSTNR’s daily news podcast, The Briefing.
Lattouf joins as a regular and permanent host alongside Tom Tilley, Jan Fran, Katrina Blowers, and Jamila Rizvi, bringing her strong journalistic voice and analytic mind to the team.
She has previously worked on a range of news and current affairs at the ABC, SBS, 10 and Triple J, and written opinion pieces for The Sydney Morning Herald, The Guardian, Women’s Agenda and Mamamia.
Lattouf has also been a guest commentator on television shows including Q&A, The Project, Studio10, Sky News, The Feed and ABC.
In 2019, she was recognised as one of the AFR’s 100 Women of Influence, and in 2021 she received a Women’s Agenda Leadership Award and won B&T Women in Media’s Champion of Change award.
Lattouf was also the co-founder of Media Diversity Australia, a not-for-profit organisation that aims to increase cultural and linguistic diversity in mainstream media.
She has also written her first book, How to Lose Friends and Influence White People, which will be published by Penguin Random House in May 2022.
Dan Mullins, the executive producer of The Briefing, said: “With an enormous amount of experience across television, audio and online, and a big impact on both audiences and the media industry, we are delighted Antoinette will be joining us as a regular co-host. Her experience, perspective, connections, smarts, and cheekiness make her the perfect fit for The Briefing.”
Lattouf said of her new role: “I’m going to be honest, anyone who knows me, knows I am not a morning person. I need a very compelling reason to get out of bed.
“But I couldn’t turn down an opportunity to join Tom, Katrina, Jan, and Jamila to host conversations about what’s making news and shaping our dinner table conversations. Plus, I was assured I’d get an intravenous coffee drip put in my arm,” she quipped.
Launched in April 2020, The Briefing is consistently among Australia’s Top 20 podcasts in the CRA Australian Podcast Ranker.
The Briefing is available daily on the LiSTNR app.
