Dentsu in Queensland has announced senior appointments and promotions across its Tourism and Events Queensland account, strengthening the team behind IMATE, the Industry Media Agency for Tourism and Events in QLD.

The agency said the updated structure is designed to support TEQ’s tourism ambitions, strengthen industry connections, and create new opportunities across Queensland’s visitor economy.

Emilia Ball, Integrated Client Lead, will lead the team after more than three years working on the account. In her expanded remit, Ball will oversee the integrated account and support collaboration across dentsu’s broader partnership with TEQ.

Jessica Ruff joins as Strategic Partnerships Director

Dentsu will welcome Jessica Ruff as Strategic Partnerships Director across IMATE from 3 August. Ruff brings more than 15 years of experience across agency and commercial roles.

Her remit will focus on developing new opportunities, building stakeholder relationships, and supporting strategic collaboration across Queensland’s tourism and events sector.

Dentsu has also promoted Rachel Knight to Client Partner, while Josh Fick has been appointed Senior Client Director. The agency said both promotions recognise their contributions to the TEQ account and the broader business.

Additional hires are also being made across junior and emerging talent roles, broadening the team’s capabilities and supporting a pipeline of future talent.

Building the IMATE proposition

Ball said TEQ’s ambition had shaped the agency’s approach to the account.

“TEQ is an ambitious client, and we’re continuing to evolve our team to match that ambition. By bringing together experienced leadership, strategic partnerships expertise and emerging talent, we’ve developed a team that is even better positioned to deliver integrated solutions that drive meaningful outcomes for both TEQ and Queensland’s broader visitor economy,” Ball said.

“Jess’ appointment and experience deepen our focus on building strong industry relationships, ensuring we continue to foster the connections that sit at the heart of how our team shows up.”

The appointments form part of dentsu’s continued investment in integrated capability as clients navigate an increasingly complex media and marketing landscape.
