DDB Melbourne promotes Becky Morriss and taps Sarah Tonner
The announcement follows a series of recent appointments to the DDB Sydney and Melbourne offices.
Following of a string of recent appointment announcements, DDB Group has made further significant changes to its creative team with DDB Group Melbourne promoting Becky Morriss to creative director and appointing Sarah Tonner as the new creative services and traffic Manager.
Tonner was previously at Wunderman Thompson, stationed as creative operations director in Sydney and Melbourne.
Earlier in the week, Sam Snowden announced he would be joining DDB Melbourne in the newly created role of head of social and content. Snowden took to LinkedIn on Monday to share the news of his move from DDB Group Aotearoa New Zealand as its head of social.
“And just like that, he was slaying social & creating content at the speed of culture with Charlotte and Rosie at DDB Melbourne!” he wrote, referring to social creative Charlotte Funnell and personal branding consultant Rosie Chong.
More recently, DDB Sydney’s executive creative director, Matt Chandler, revealed the recruitment of creative duo Emmalie Narathipakorn and Seamus McAlary from The Monkeys with the appointments take effect immediately.
Narathipakorn, previously serving as an art director at The Monkeys, assumes the role of Senior Art Director at DDB, while McAlary, a copywriter from The Monkeys, steps in as senior copywriter.

Morriss, who has dedicated 11 years to DDB, started as a designer before advancing to an art director role. Her notable campaigns include Jarden's and the NGV's 'Creative Index', Coles' 'Great Lengths For Quality', 'Great Value Hands Down', 'The Longest Table', and Porsche's 'Taycan Arcade', earning her a number of accolades, including Best in Show at the 2023 Caples and AWARD Award.
Said Morriss: “Assuming the role of Creative Director fills me with immense pride. It’s been exciting to see the creative landscape transform, particularly with more female representation across industry leadership.
"Being acknowledged in this capacity is truly gratifying and I’m excited to continue making world-class work and fostering our wonderful and talented creative department.”
