They came, they conquered, almost. Ben and Liam have posted solid results even if they haven’t quite yet conquered the market after flipping from triple j to a small metro market. What the new hosts have done is maintain the previous share. The steady breakfast ratings have been good news for morning which jumped 1.3. Drive was strong too with Kate, Tim and Marty still #1 on an improved share of 16.0% (+0.3). Station share among kids 10-17 jumped 7.6 to 33.5%.

The ABC seems to have picked up some of the Fiveaa audience in this summer survey which wouldn’t be a surprise given the bushfires and the aftermath. Breakfast with David Penberthy and Will Goodings dipped, no make that dropped, 3.7 to 10.5%, the lowest breakfast share in over four years. While all dayparts were down, new afternoon announcer Tony Pilkington held on best with share down 1.0.

We said it was a tough survey to end 2019, but this is worse. Breakfast on 6.6% is close to a Triple M lowest ever alert. Footy starts soon and hopefully for the station some of the audience bounces back. Also sharing the losses this month were morning and afternoon.
