ABC launches national Your Say audience project
The eight-week initiative will inform ABC journalism and take News Breakfast to communities nationwide.

The ABC will launch ABC Your Say on Monday, 20 July, inviting Australians to share the issues, questions and opportunities shaping their lives in 2026.
The eight-week audience engagement project will involve ABC News, Audio and Local Radio teams. Feedback gathered from communities will help inform the broadcaster’s editorial commissioning, investigations and interviews with decision-makers.
How ABC Your Say will work
Australians will be able to take part through ABC digital platforms and community events held by ABC Local Radio stations. Teams will visit metropolitan, regional and remote communities to hear directly from local audiences.
The initiative follows an ABC Your Say project held during the 2025 federal election. The ABC said tens of thousands of people took part by submitting questions and identifying their key election concerns.
Donna Field, ABC director, News, said the project would strengthen the public broadcaster’s connection with its audiences.

“At a time when trust matters more than ever, ABC Your Say reinforces the ABC’s role as a public broadcaster that listens as well as reports – bringing Australians directly into the national conversation and reflecting what matters most to them.”
News Breakfast begins national tour
ABC News Breakfast will also undertake a national tour during the project. The program will broadcast live from a different location each Friday morning across every state and the Northern Territory.
The tour will visit:
- Newcastle
- Launceston
- Mount Isa
- Gawler
- Darwin
- Fremantle
- Brisbane
- Melbourne
At each stop, the News Breakfast team will hold a community event with local ABC staff. The events will give residents an opportunity to discuss the matters affecting their communities.
Insights collected throughout ABC Your Say will be used across the broadcaster’s television, radio and digital journalism.
