The ABC has announced Elizabeth Moore as the new head of audience data & insights.
Moore is a data and insights professional who specialises in using her skills to drive business decisions and customer experiences. She joins the ABC from Telstra, where she has been for the past 10 years, most recently working as the executive for data, reporting & analytics.
“We’re delighted to have Liz join our team,” Leisa Bacon, ABC director audiences, said.
“Liz has enjoyed an incredible career with extensive experience in key areas of analytics and data which we are building out at the ABC. She’s held a variety of senior roles in the field, in addition to being active in the broader research community for many years. This positions her well to lead and support ABC’s fantastic Audience Data and Insights Team into the future.”
Moore is passionate about both the research industry, and developing highly engaged teams, who are leaders in the fields of data and insights.
Before joining Telstra, she spent 13 years with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia working in the areas of market research, customer analytics and data driven marketing. Her early career focused on economics and marketing in the agribusiness industry in Australia, New York, and London.
She is a past President of the Research Society and sits on the Business Advisory Board of Deakin University’s Faculty of Business.
Moore starts on November 15.
Earlier this month, ABC announced that after six years as the director of news, analysis, and investigations at the ABC, Gaven Morris, will leave the ABC when his contract expires.
“I’ve provided David [Anderson] with plenty of notice and I’ll continue to serve the ABC for as long as he needs me to,” he said. “I’ll keep you updated on the recruitment process for the next director over the coming weeks,” said Morris.
“To have had the opportunity to lead ABC News is a personal and career highlight. It’s without doubt a challenging job, but also fulfilling and worthwhile. I’ve given it my all.”
