7News has reiterated its position as a top broadcaster in Australia, as the Seven Network reports that 7News has had an “unbeatable lead over its rivals” in 2022.
Seven Network reports that 7News has claimed the win for every week of the OzTAM survey ratings nationally. Seven Network asserts that 7News is the top watched nightly news program in Australia, claiming the win for its timeslot nationally “every single day” so far for 2022.
Seven’s director of news and public affairs, Craig McPherson, said: “It’s extremely satisfying that Australians have made 7News the most-watched news in 2022. This marks the seventh consecutive year 7News has been the news of choice in the combined capital cities and across the country.”
The report states that the Seven Network has claimed a win 23 weeks so far for the calendar year, and also reports the network is the top choice among the demographic groups of 16 to 39s and 25 to 54s.
One of Australia’s leading media companies, Seven West Media is listed on the Australian Stock Exchange as SWM and boasts a market leader in broadcast television, publishing, and digital and content production across these platforms.
McPherson said of the Seven Network report: “The sum of all parts – and there are many – drives our dominance and consistency but this year we’ve seen exceptional growth in our Melbourne market, as well as Brisbane and Adelaide, with Perth dominating in all our expanding News programming in the west and Sydney holding its commercial share.”
The network claims that this average is 29% greater than its closest competitor, with the report ascertaining that 7News has an unbeaten weekday commercial share amounting to 4.1 share points more than the nearest rival.
Seven Network’s 7News reaches 1.72 million viewers daily from Monday to Friday, resulting in a national weekday audience average of 1.46 million viewers.
