3AW Supports initiative has been named Ovarian Cancer Australia as the partner of choice for the month of June.
The initiative, launched last month, is designed to help drive awareness and raise funds for vital local and charitable organisations in Melbourne.
Each month, the talkback radio station will champion a different Melbourne-based charity, spreading the word of critical community groups while helping to raise much-needed funds to support their endeavours.
The program is part of a broader initiative from all of Nine’s talk radio stations and is underwritten by $1.6 million in airtime and production each year.
Ovarian cancer is Australia’s deadliest women’s cancer. Each day in Australia, five women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer and three will die from the disease.
Ovarian Cancer Australia’s vision is to save lives and ensure no woman with ovarian cancer walks alone.
By making a donation, Ovarian Cancer Australia can help support women diagnosed with ovarian cancer through awareness, advocacy, specialist nurses and practical support.
Stephen Beers, 3AW station manager, said: “We are excited to launch 3AW Supports with such an amazing charity as Ovarian Cancer Australia.
“The support offered by the team at Ovarian Cancer Australia makes sure no one goes through their treatment and recovery alone,” Beers added.
