• 3AW #1 despite a small drop, Gold now #1 FM with Triple M only other FM to lift
• New breakfast shows at KIIS, Gold and Nova all lift, with Fox brekky down

Breakfast hosts Ross and John celebrated their first ratings win of what could be another clean sweep this in Malaysia where they are hosting a week of programs after not having the right visas for India. They weren’t able to celebrate their win in KL’s Royal Selangor Club however, as breakfast producer Kate Stevenson wasn’t allowed inside! Their breakfast share was down 2.0 to 17.8%, but they lead an improving ABC702 breakfast by 1.5 points. Neil Mitchell was down a point, but evening which is now shared by Ross Greenwood, Steve Price plus Bruce and Phil, lifted 2.6 to 13.8%. 3AW dominates older audiences with listening was up 4.0 to 22.2% 55-64, but down 3.3 to 28.9% 65+.
Gold 8.9%
ARN has the #1 FM station with Gold climbing 0.7, with four of the other five FM stations losing share. The biggest improvements were in drive and evening with smaller increases across the rest of the day. The new breakfast show with Jo Stanley and Lehmo has started life with 6.4%, up 0.2 from how breakfast ended 2015. Gold remains #1 40-54 with share up 3.4 to 14.7%.
FoxFM hit 1019 8.6%
The hit network station that has yet to change its name maintains the biggest cume audience in the market despite share down 1.1. Breakfast with Fifi and Dave was down 2.5 to 6.7% which seems them remain #2 breakfast, but just 0.3 ahead of Gold. Hamish and Andy dipped 2.3 points, but remain #1 in drive ahead of an improving Gold. Share was down close to 4.0 18-24 and 25-39.
3MMM 6.9%
10+ share edged higher by 0.2, with The Hot Breakfast holding top #FM spot despite share lower at 8.5%. Drive was down 2.0 to 5.8% with the station’s drive show The Rush Hour not returning until next week. In the demos share was up 5.1 to 13.3% 40-54 with 3MMM now #2 behind only Gold. Share dropped 3.6 to 9.0% 25-39 where the station now ranks #3FM behind Fox and Nova.
smoothfm 91.5 6.9%
A 0.6 lift in breakfast to 5.4% was offset by a fall of 2.9 in the evening which kept the station close to a 7% share. Some listeners aged 40-54 drifted away with share down 2.3 to 7.3%.
KIIS 101.1 6.4%
The first survey for the new Matt Tilley and Meshel Laurie breakfast show sees them with a 6.2% share. That’s better than the morning numbers and equal to the KIIS afternoon share. The only slot to break above 6.5% at KIIS is drive with Hughesy and Kate where they recorded 8.4%, a drop from 9.3% from the end of 2015. Share in all demos over 18 was down a little.
Nova 100 6.0%
Another new breakfast show here too with Chrissie, Sam and Browny starting their time together on 5.8%, up half a point on the final survey figures for Tommy and Meshel last year. At-work listening took a hit with both morning and afternoon down over 1.5 points. Kate, Tim and Marty shed 0.8 to 7.5% in drive where they now rank #4 FM.
SEN 3.5%
The station lost 0.4 10+ thanks to share falls in evening and on weekends. That was offset by a lift of 0.2 for the first breakfast survey for the new Francis Leach and David Schwarz program.
Magic 1278 2.8%
Share tumbled 1.3 to 2.8% with more programming now networked. No daypart escaped with the heaviest loss in local breakfast where John Blackman and Jane Holmes now on a smaller share of 2.0%.
