From Monday, June 27, 10 will extend its weekday news offering with a new 30-minute national morning bulletin, 10 News First: Breakfast.
The return of the breakfast slot, which takes on the likes of Channel Seven’s Sunrise and Nine’s Today, will kick off at 8am each weekday morning.
Presented by Lachlan Kennedy from Monday to Wednesday, and Natasha Exelby on Thursdays and Fridays, 10 News First: Breakfast will deliver all the latest breaking news and up-to-date reports on local, national and international stories.
The 30-minute news bulletin will then lead into the start of its long-running talk show, Studio 10, hosted by Sarah Harris and Tristan MacManus.
Martin White, head of broadcast news, 10 News First, said, “The addition of a new morning news bulletin in 10 News First: Breakfast expands and strengthens 10’s commitment to news across the day.”
The new morning news coverage will go up against the powerhouse breakfast duos of Natalie Barr and David Koch, and Karl Stefanovic and Allison Langdon.
A Network 10 spokesperson said earlier this month, “10 News First: Breakfast expands and strengthens 10’s commitment to News across the day.
“The addition of a morning news bulletin offers viewers a concise, 30-minute news update at the start of their day, and extends 10’s daily news offering.
“From 10 News First: Breakfast at 8 am, through to 10 News First at 5 pm, and all the news updates in between, 10 has you covered with the latest breaking news and up to date reports on local, national and international stories,” they added.
The return to breakfast TV comes after the rebrand from 10 ViacomCBS to 10 Paramount.
ViacomCBS chief executive Bob Bakish revealed in a memo to staff that the company would be rebranding back in February
The announcement came as the company revealed its Q4 2021 financial and ahead of an investor day for ViacomCBS.
10 News First: Breakfast launches Monday, 27 June at 8am on 10 and Studio 10 will follow at the new time of 8.30am.
