The campaign was conceived by Clemenger BBDO Sydney and realised by Foxtel’s in-house creative team Felix. Filmgraphics Entertainment and Method Studios produced the commercial, with David Denneen directing.

The 84 year-old William Shatner, who also served as the face of a broadband Internet campaign by New Zealand ISP MyRepublic in 2014, is currently touring Australia with his one man show Shatner’s World. The actor is best known for his roles in Star Trek, TJ Hooker, and Boston Legal.

Ed Smith, Foxtel’s Executive Director of Sales and Marketing said, “Today we kicked off our national marketing campaign alerting customers that our triple play of Foxtel Broadband, TV entertainment and home phone is available, and what better personality to help us flip the switch than TV and film legend, William Shatner. Shatner’s trademark charm and cheeky delivery provides us with a perfect platform from which to announce Foxtel Broadband’s arrival and to highlight Foxtel’s world class content and innovative technology. It was a pleasure having him on board to lead Foxtel’s Broadband mission.”

Foxtel Broadband launched in February of this year, enabling customers to bundle broadband, their subscription TV service, and home phone as part of the Foxtel Triple Play bundle.

Customers of Foxtel broadband do not have data download limits for any content consumed through Foxtel TV, Foxtel Go, Foxtel Anytime, Foxtel Play, or Presto when accessing the internet through their Foxtel Broadband service.
