Western Sydney Ad School aims to provide advertising courses that are affordable and accessible to people from all walks of life.
The school offers an intensive and collaborative 12-week course for those interested in a career in advertising. It is designed to help students build a portfolio showing a range of concepts from TV, print, radio, social and digital that can be used for job interviews at agencies.
The next semester begins on June 30, 2022 and for one night a week. The total cost of the course comes to $990.00 per student, which breaks down to $82.50 per week.
The course includes a range of hourly lectures from a leading expert with tutorials held in Parramatta each week.
Students are given a new brief to work on with a total of 10 briefs in the course which include posters, print, radio, TV, digital and PR. The course also covers outdoor, digital/social, integrated and strategy planning.
Meanwhile, the final two weeks are set aside for refining portfolios to be ready for prospective interviews.
The tutors come from industry backgrounds who will guide and critique students. Sessions run from 6 pm to 9 pm, however daytime classes are available on Thursdays.

The Western Sydney Ad School also offers Hardship Scholarships for students who are enthusiastic about pursue a career in advertising but are unable to afford the fees.
To be eligible applicants must come from Greater West of Sydney, have a low family income or experiencing financial difficulties.
The school also takes into consideration personal hardship, as well as medical conditions, disabilities or dependents with special needs.
Scholarships are given on the basis of need, students with the highest need will be awarded the scholarship first and more than one scholarship can be awarded per semester, according to the The Western Sydney Ad School.
