Western Australia wins Australian Ninja Warrior: State of Origin

• Ninja Warrior: Australia vs The World is tomorrow night at 7.30pm on Nine.

In an Australian Ninja Warrior first, Team Western Australia have won to become Australian Ninja Warrior: State of Origin champions, broadcasted on Nine and available on 9Now.

Team WA won after team member Zed Colback had to bow out of the final stages of the competition with a migraine. A man down, the team dominated the course, topping the leader board in every heat.

Led by Australia’s first Ninja Warrior, Ben Polson, alongside Olivia Vivian and Sam Goodall, the West Australians were the only team to complete every obstacle without touching the water.

After the knockout heats, Ben Polson faced off with Team Victoria’s Ashlin “Flashlin” Herbert on the Power Tower, coming from behind to seal victory and secure the $100,000 prizemoney for WA.

Polson said: “Taking out the win for WA warms my heart. I have so much love for my state and everything it has provided for me since I was a kid. After success in the regular season this win for me was all about Zed and Sam and knowing how much that money could help their lives. That’s what pushed me and brought a smile to my face.”

Ben’s girlfriend and teammate Olivia Vivian  added: “I’m so proud of our team and thankful we had the amazing talents and long arm span of Ben Polson to bring home the win on the Power Tower.”

Sam Goodall said: “It was sensational to win Ninja Warrior State of Origin alongside some of my best friends. We had to fight hard once we lost Zed, but in WA we are used to going the extra mile and that’s what we did.”

Zed Colback thanked his team mates for covering for him. He will use the prizemoney to pay for his wife’s eye surgery. “I am feeling incredibly blessed,” he said.

Having just seen the crowning of the 2020 Ninja Warrior: State of Origin champions, it’s now time to see how Australia’s best match it against the greatest international Ninjas in Ninja Warrior: Australia vs The World, coming to viewers from Las Vegas tomorrow night at 7.30pm on Nine.
