A mix of NRL and Bledisloe Cup coverage across Nine Network stations pushed TV ratings share higher at Nine and Gem in Sydney and Brisbane. While Nine ranked #1 primary and network in Sydney, the result wasn’t so clear cut in Brisbane. In the Queensland capital, Seven ranked #1 primary and leading network too where the Lions victory was broadcast on 7mate. The Bledisloe did boost Gem in that market, but the early start limited the impact on primetime share.
Seven
Seven ended the week with a Saturday #1 ranking for the primary and network shares.
Saturday night coverage of different AFL games across Seven and 7mate was 427,000. The Melbourne audience was 188,000 with over 60,000 in each of Sydney and Brisbane.
Earlier in the night Seven News was just under 1m.
Next best was Sunrise Saturday ranking in the top 10 of the TV ratings with 319,000.
Nine
After a Game 1 Bledisloe audience of 304,000 a week ago, the Wallabies’ attempt to keep the series alive attracted 308,000. The All Blacks had it mostly their own way of course which might make it hard for Game 3 coming to Perth to match the audience for the first two games.
Nine News had an audience of 815,000.
Getaway was top 10 again with 323,000.
A Current Affair Saturday screened in three markets with 239,000.
The Saturday Night NRL had 238,000 watching with 165,000 in Sydney and just 55,000 in Brisbane.
10
10 News First maintained its record of the most-watched Saturday show in the TV ratings rankings with 311,000 at 5pm.
A repeat episode of The Dog House did 240,000 and 274,000.
ABC
ABC News ranked #3 last night with 693,000.
The next biggest crowd was watching ABC News on Saturday morning with 371,000 watching state leaders with Covid updates.
The Durrells continued at 7.30pm. There are 26 episodes and the ABC is working through them. Series 3 repeats wrapped last night and if the ABC shows all of the final series there will be six more weeks to run. The audience was 331,000 followed by the series final of Belgravia on 229,000.
SBS
The broadcaster enjoyed its biggest primary and network shares of the week.
SBS World News started on 203,000 and ended on 143,000.
A repeat of World War II: Battles for Europe did 120,000 at 5.30pm.
Back-to-back episodes of Blood of the Clans were on 109,000 after 7.30pm.
