An AFL free Friday is good news for Nine
Nine has taken advantage of having the only live sport last night to claim it first Friday win since the start of the AFL season.
Seven
Seven surrendered its Friday night domination with no more Friday Night Football ahead of the Grand Final to be played Saturday evening next week. Seven wasn’t far behind Nine though, trailing by less than 1.0 in the network battle.
Seven also had the equal #1 ranked multichannel, with 7mate and 10 Bold both on 4.0%.
Seven was a clear winner at 6pm with audiences just under 1m, at 6.00pm and 6.30pm.
With no football on the schedule, Better Homes and Gardens had a clear run on the primary channel in all markets with 508,000 watching.
The movie The Help then had an audience of 219,000.
Nine
Nine had a first place finish in both primary and network share last night.
With the NRL pre-game starting at 7pm along the east coast, A Current Affair only screened in Adelaide and Perth to 68,000.
The Semi-Final clash between Manly and Easts saw the Sea Eagles comfortable victors as they ended the season for the Roosters. That win sets up a fascinating battle against Rabbitohs next week. The NRL audience was 608,000 with 348,000 in Sydney and 157,000 in Brisbane.
10
The Project 7pm attracted the biggest audience again with 347,000, but down from the 406,000 watching a week ago.
10 News First was just under 300,000 with The Living Room with a similar-sized crowd on 290,000.
ABC
ABC News led the way with 646,000 at 7pm.
Gardening Australia was one of the two lifestyle shows over half a million at 7.30pm with a Midsomer Murders repeat following on 396,000.
SBS
SBS World News pulled 170,000 at 6.30pm and then 148,000 at 7pm.
Friday night regular Secrets of Egypt’s Valley of the Kings was then on 140,000.
