With a primary share of 24.6%, Seven was a clear Friday TV ratings leader. And as 7mate pushed above a 5% share, Seven was also a network TV ratings winner on 34.8%.
Seven’s top of the table AFL clash drew the biggest AFL audience of the year with 679,000 in metro markets as the Demons got on top of the Western Bulldogs early and then never let them back in the game. Add in in 210,000 regional and 253,000 on Fox Footy and you have an AFL audience of 1,142,000 viewing the game in an empty Marvel Stadium.
Seven’s performance was also boosted by just over half a million watching Better Homes and Gardens on Seven and 7TWO.
The NRL clash between West Tigers and the Dragons saw Wests Tigers get off to a good start and the Dragons couldn’t manage close the gap. The audience was 294,000 watching on Nine and 9Gem. Add in 166,000 watching in regional markets and 248,000 via Fox League and you get a total NRL audience of 708,000.
10’s 7.30 offering was The Living Room with 313,000.
Gardening Australia was on 447,000 for ABC followed by 461,000 for a Vera repeat.
On SBS at 7.30pm there were 147,000 watching Heliopolis: The City of the Sun.
