Seven
The primary channel and the combined channel share from Seven has again dominated the Friday night TV ratings. Seven News and Friday Night Football were in the top four programs. Seven News was not far under 1m metro viewers across the hour from 6pm.
The Friday Night Football again featured reigning AFL premiers Richmond. However the club delivered their poorest performance in memory against St Kilda. A crowd of over 600,000 saw Richmond deliver their lowest score under current coach Damien Hardwick. Kicking just two goals was also their lowest score at the MCG in close to 100 years. The Melbourne audience was 381,000 with just under 100,000 in both Adelaide and Perth.
Nine
It is Origin weekend at Nine as the festival of rugby league started with the women’s clash with Queensland winning a close contest over NSW. The match, played at the Sunshine Coast Stadium, had an audience of 288,000 with 144,000 Sydney 119,000 in Brisbane.

The primary channel’s biggest audience came after 5pm with 392,000 watching 10 News First. Later in the evening The Project 7pm did 360,000 followed by The Living Room on 355,000.
ABC
Vera was again just short of half a million viewers. It was preceded by Gardening Australia on 447,000. A late night repeat of Doc Martin was on 191,000.
SBS
The channel’s best after SBS World News (138,000/101,000) was repeat episodes of The World’s Most Scenic Railway Journeys on 100,000.
