Although rugby league is the premier sporting event in Origin week, it was AFL again last night that dominated the TV ratings and led Seven to victory.
The biggest TV audiences of the day came out of Melbourne as the city returns to normal after another lockdown.
News viewing was huge with audiences close to 350,000 for Seven and Nine in Melbourne after 6pm.
The AFL Friday TV ratings were 539,000 metro which was a clear winner for Seven as Hawthorn surprised the Swans. The numbers were down on the previous two weeks where Melbourne victories had audiences of 679,000 and 623,000.
On Nine, A Current Affair Friday was just under 600,000. The NRL audience watching the Sharks win a thriller was 289,000 which was down on 368,000 a week ago.
10’s best was The Project 7pm on 386,000 followed by The Living Room on 371,000.
Vera on 468,000 and the Gardening Australia with 456,000 were the best for ABC.
A repeat on SBS of Extreme Railway Journeys did 154,000.
