TV ratings: Seven
The longtime Friday leader continued to rule despite an underwhelming AFL clash. Seven News averaged over 1m for the whole hour (1.10m and 1.01m).
Better Homes and Gardens had another strong night with 564,000 watching as it broadcast on Seven and 7TWO across the metro network.
A matchup of Essendon and Adelaide failed to provide a competitive clash with Essendon in charge across four quarters as Adelaide posted an all-time low score. Over on Fox Footy during the halftime break Garry Lyon and his colleagues apologised for the quality of the game and noted there were other matches in the round that should have perhaps been scheduled in the premier Friday Night Footy slot. The AFL audience still was a clear leader later on the night with 482,000 – 261,000 of them in Melbourne.
Nine
South Sydney was too strong for North Queensland last night. A clash that helped Nine to rank #1 for the night in Sydney and Brisbane. The NRL audience was 381,000 – 255,000 in Sydney and 104,000 in Brisbane.
Earlier in the night Nine News started over 1m and dropped to 959,000 after 6.30pm. A Current Affair Friday was on 686,000.

The channel’s biggest audience for the day was again at 5pm with 413,000 watching 10 News First.
In primetime the biggest crowd of 373,000 gathered at 7pm for The Project.
The Living Room was then on 272,000.
ABC
The repeat season of Vera has finally come to an end with the screening of series 10, episode 4 last night. The audience pushed above half a million. Filling the slot from next week will be another popular long-running UK crime drama Midsomer Murders.
Earlier in the night the new Friday night double was on its second week. Movin’ to the Country was in Tasmania with 482,000 watching. It was followed by Dream Gardens on 413,000.
SBS
A 7.30pm repeat of Egypt’s Lost Pyramid was a ratings magnet again with 183,000 watching.
Tour de France Stage 13 later in the night was on 166,000.
