Primetime Test Cricket a winner for Seven, despite the late rain

An Ashes Test played under lights was again a magnet for viewers and it was key to a Seven TV ratings win.

The day started and ended with drizzle, but in between there was plenty of action with Australian wickets falling early, but then plenty of runs as the day progressed.

The match in Hobart is being played as a day/night test which is a win for Seven after the game was switched from Perth where the last session would have been played in primetime on the east coast.

Elsewhere Midsomer Murders and War of the Worlds attracted drama audiences. War of the Worlds had an impressive bump in the Total TV data. After a metro overnight audience of 218,000 a week ago, the Total TV number grew to 524,000 including regional, time shift and an impressive BVOD audience of 87,000. Last night’s War of the Worlds did 169,000.
