Total TV Ratings, February 11
The biggest riser in the total TV ratings was Midsomer Murders which experienced a 14% rise.
The top entertainment show was Better Homes and Gardens with a total TV audience of 739,000.
The opening ceremony of the Beijing Winter Olympics had a 13% lift on overnight bringing its total TV audience to 572,000, while Nine’s new series of David Attenborough’s Green Planet had a 12% lift reaching a total of 647,000 viewers.
Overnight TV Ratings, February 11
Seven continues to claim the top primary channel spot with a 36.1% market share thanks to the Beijing Winter Olympics. Although the evening and night Olympics ratings experienced a drop of around 200,000, the day session clocked one of the highest ratings since the start of the Olympics, bringing in 464,000 views.
This comes after snowboarding superstar Scotty James won a silver medal in a thrilling snowboarding half-pipe final. James hit the front with a 92.50 on his second run but fell short when Japanese rival Ayumu Hirano scored a 96.00 on his final run wining him gold.
Beijing Winter Olympics Day 7:
Day: 464,000 (326,000 metro, 138,000 regional)
Afternoon: 458,000 (306,000 metro, 152,000 regional)
Evening: 551,000 (370,000 metro, 181,000 regional)
Night: 504,000 (354,000 metro, 150,000 regional)
Late: 480,000 (365,000 metro, 115,000 regional)
The top subscription show was Fox Cricket’s Live: Innings Break with 195,000 views, followed by their live viewing of the Australia vs. Sri Lanka T20 match with 187,000.
The Chase was the number one entertainment show with 475,000 metro viewers and 238,000 regional.
ABC’s Midsomer Murders ranked ninth with a combined metro and regional viewership of 592,000. Episode 6 of season 22, titled “The Witches Of Angel’s Rise” is the second of only two new Midsomer Murders episodes that will screen on the ABC this month. This is partly due to COVID impacting production in the UK.
