After six nights of TV ratings in Week 43, Nine has a very handy lead, despite Seven recording a narrow Friday win.
Total TV ratings Friday October 15
The new ABC Friday drama Annika (above) was the big mover in the Total TV ratings data for Friday a week ago.
Annika went from an overnight metro figure of 548,000 to a national Consolidated7 (C7) and BVOD audience of 1,223,000. The BVOD audience was 228,000 and the metro C7 extra audience was 116,000. With all episodes available on iview that might have helped drive the BVOD viewing.
The battles for viewers in the Friday lifestyle segment was close when the total audience is calculated. Better Homes and Gardens had a narrow lead on 886,000, just ahead of Gardening Australia on 879,000.
Overnight TV ratings Metro Friday October 22
Seven
Seven News audiences were just over and just under 850,000 in the 6pm hour.
Better Homes and Gardens was on 462,000, narrowly trailing the average audience for its main competitor for eyeballs, Gardening Australia.
The Friday movie Interstellar pulled an audience of 169,000.
Nine
Both halves of Nine News were around 750,000.
A Current Affair Friday was then on 550,000.
Taronga: Who’s Who in the Zoo was new to the 7.30pm Friday timeslot with 390,000, making the channel instantly more competitive than the last fortnight.
The 2020 movie Dolittle followed with 225,000.

The Project delivered the primary channel’s biggest audience with 307,000 after 7pm.
The Living Room followed on 276,000 after 330,000 a week ago.
The Graham Norton Show was then on 193,000.
ABC
The 7pm ABC News was just under 600,000 after a few weeks above 600,000.
Gardening Australia had the biggest audience of the lifestyle shows with 471,000, down from 490,000 a week go.
Annika held most of the ABC audience with 454,000 watching the second episode of the crime drama.
SBS
The documentary Hunting Hitler’s U-Boats had the channel’s biggest audience with 136,000.
Legends of the Pharaohs dipped for another week with 133,000 after 160,000 seven days ago.
