Seven has finished Week 21 ranked as the #1 network all people in the TV ratings. In the primary channel rankings there were a number of deadlocks. Firstly Seven and Nine both finished on 19.7%. Next ABC and 10 recorded showing a primary share of 11.5% for the week.
Helping Seven to its network win was 7mate which was the #1 multichannel with its share of 4.0% contributing to Seven’s winning network TV ratings share of 29.1%.
Seven 19.7% primary share, 29.1% network share
Share slipped a little week-on-week from 20.2% primary and 30.0% in network numbers in Week 20.
Seven News maintained its leadership position across each day of the week at 6pm.
The biggest non-news audience was for the 7News Spotlight edition featuring Craig McLachlan from producer Mark Llewellyn with an audience of 720,000.
Home and Away was on 571,000, up from 548,000 in Week 20.
7mate was the #1 multichannel on 4.0% with shares of 4.0% and 4.2% on Sunday and Saturday last week.
Nine 19.7% primary share, 27.8% network share
Share was up week-on-week for primary and network performance. Nine was again #1 network and #1 primary channel in TV ratings for viewers 25-54.
The channel’s best performer was the final two nights of Lego Masters for the year. The final episode of the series was split in two with Monday audiences of 933,000 and then 1,001,000 with 903,000 for the penultimate episode on Sunday.
The weekday Nine News 6pm bulletin was just over 900,000 at 6pm and just under that mark after 6.30pm.
A Current Affair was on 688,000, its best for a few weeks after 675,000 and 678,000 for the previous two weeks.
Travel Guides remains a consistent performer for Nine with 629,000 after previous recent weeks on 644,000 and 631,000.
A breakout performer came from the decision to run a movie at 7.30pm Tuesday. Not just any movie though, it was the FTA premier of Bohemian Rhapsody which did 517,000.
10 11.5% primary share, 18.8% network share
Share dropped slightly week-on-week with Have You Been Paying Attention? the best performer. The show found a spot in the all people top 20 with 654,000, but it ranked #5 for the week 25-54.
That demo is where 10 performed strongest with all five episodes of MasterChef Australia ranking from #17 to #17.
The Project had a better week with the M-F and Sunday episodes both close to 450,000.
ABC 11.5% primary share, 16.1% network share
Hard Quiz was again the star performer for the channel with 620,000 and after 636,000 the week prior.
The 7pm News had an average of 604,000 viewers for both the Monday to Friday and Sunday bulletins.
Not quite cracking 600,000 was an encore screening of the Australian Story episode on The Seekers which drew a good crowd of 575,000.
The final episode of The Weekly for this season had an audience of 522,000.
SBS 4.6% primary share, 8.1% network share
Despite repeat screenings of the Eurovision First and Second Semi-Finals on Friday and Saturday, SBS share was down week-on-week from 4.9% to 4.6%.
There was a smaller slip in network share.
The channel’s best was again a repeat episode of The World’s Most Scenic Railway Journeys on 199,000.
The Eurovision Semis had audiences of 157,000 on Friday and 155,000 on Saturday.
