Vogue Australia has announced Optus as the partner of Vogue Codes for the second consecutive year and outlined the 2022 program of events.
With the aim of inspiring more women to pursue careers in tech-related industries, Vogue Australia established Vogue Codes in 2016 in answer to a gender imbalance in the technology industry.
Vogue Codes, in partnership with Optus, returns as a series of live and virtual events from 8 June. The new program of events includes Vogue Codes Summit and Vogue Codes in Conversation, as well as the introduction of a brand-new, all-virtual format, Vogue Codes Campus.
In 2022, the program will not only continue to platform female leaders and entrepreneurs, inspiring audiences to follow a similarly trailblazing path, but also fulfil its mission to inspire the next generation of women in tech, and empower them to pursue a career in STEM fields.
A line-up of local and international speakers includes Associate Professor Catherine Green on the development of the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine; Victoria Devine, founder of She’s on the Money; Michelle Grey co-founder and CEO of Culture Vault; Teagan Cowlishaw, co-founder of First Nations Fashion & Design; Mary Lou Ryan, co-founder of bassike; Manuri Gunawardena, founder and CEO of HealthMatch; Isobel Marshall, co-founder and Director of Taboo; and Mariam Mohammed, co-founder of MoneyGirl.
Vogue Australia editor-in-chief Edwina McCann said the campaign remained firmly focused on female leadership and entrepreneurship, and on the skills needed for the next generation of technology leaders to thrive.
“Vogue Codes is our campaign to connect women with the digital innovators, thought leaders and inspiring entrepreneurs who are influencing the technology landscape globally,” said McCann.
“As we move into our seventh year of Vogue Codes, this year’s program is a mix of live and virtual events designed to inspire our audiences with a sense of optimism and opportunity.
“We are so pleased to welcome back Optus as our presenting partner for Vogue Codes 2022 and delighted to have Audi and SkinCeuticals as our supporting partners. We thank them for their support of this initiative and understanding the importance of technology to push us forward and to continue innovating.
“We look forward to a celebration of the achievements and potential of women with our most dynamic and exciting Vogue Codes yet.”
Optus VP of marketing, Melissa Hopkins said: “STEM is the very foundation on which Optus is built and we are passionate about championing females in STEM, because achieving gender diversity and inclusivity leads to world-class products and results.
“We’re proud of the opportunities our partnership with Vogue Australia has created, and optimistic about the progress we can continue to lead as we look forward to a future where opportunities are based on talent, not gender.”
