US audience welcomes Stephen Colbert on The Late Show

Ratings record for the premiere of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in the US

CBS’s US premiere of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert averaged 6.6 million viewers, and was Tuesday’s most-watched late night program in viewers and key demographics, according to Nielsen live plus same-day fast national ratings for September 8.

The Late Show delivered its largest Tuesday audience, excluding David Letterman’s final week, since July 25, 1995, its biggest adult 25-54 delivery since February 9, 2010, its largest adult 18-49 demographic since January 27, 2009 and its highest adults 18-34 numbers since Sept. 4, 2007.

In Australia, The Late Show was screened on ELEVEN.
