The advertising industry’s cricket stars across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Auckland are heading to the nets to prepare for the annual UnLtd Big Clash cricket tournament.
The event, sponsored by JCDecaux, ACM, MiQ and Seven West Media, is raising funds for UnLtd to support young people at risk.
Now in its 9th year in Sydney, the event will once again see usual competitors team up and battle it out on the cricket field to see who will be the cricket champions of the industry – media owners, creatives, tech or media agencies.
The Team Captains for the Sydney game have been announced this week, with Kathryn Furnari from PHD as the Captain for Women’s Media Agency Team, Fiona Roberts from MiQ for Tech Team, Nicole Bence from SWM for Media Owners Team and Penny Kaleta for Creative Team.
For the men’s games, Matthew Coote from Snapchat will be leading the Tech Team, Ricky Chanana from JustEggs the Creative Team, Alex Williams from PHD the Agency Team and Oliver Hing from Seven the Media Owners Team.
Chris Freel, CEO of UnLtd said, “The Big Clash is the perfect way to get the industry together to kick the year off. This year will also be an extra special one as we will reach over $1 million raised for youth at risk since the start of this event eight years ago.
“We look forward to seeing everybody come out to bat, bowl, cheer, and gather to have fun, re-connect and raise funds for a great cause. We are also very excited to launch the event in New Zealand and get our event calendar underway there.”
In Melbourne, Jin Subasinghe from Paramount will be leading the Women’s Media Owner Team, Rachael Conway from Initiative the Women’s Agency Team, James Betlehem from Finecast the Men’s Agency Team, George Hurley-Wellington from Seven the Men’s Media Owners Team, Karan Kent from PlaygroundXYZ the Tech Team and Dean Codrington from Bravada Films the Creative Team.
Tiffany Damm, commercial director of UnLtd said: “Big Clash is a great day out connecting with the industry, watching some very competitive cricket all while supporting youth at risk.
“We encourage everyone across the industry to join us to help cheer their team to victory. We hope to see you in Sydney on the 9th Feb and in Melbourne on the 16th Feb!”
