ABC’s Grantchester topped Total TV with a growth of 680,000 lifting by 17%.

The biggest jump in commercial primetime viewing goes to ABC’s Bay of Fires, where the Total TV audience grew by 90% to reach 245,000 viewers. 

Overnight TV Ratings, September 9

Seven enjoyed a Saturday night win in both the network and primary channel shares with 28.8% and 38.3%, respectively. 7mate won the multichannels with 4.2%.

Seven’s Saturday Night AFL saw the Lions take a massive 48-point victory over Port Adelaide ending with 123-75. 613,000 tuned in. Seven also had the Giants vs St Kilda match in the afternoon with the Giants winning 101-77. 478,000 watched. 

Nine’s coverage of the Panthers v Warriors match saw 334,000 tune in as the Panthers smashed with 32-6. Later in the night, the Roosters v Sharks match was much closer in points with the Roosters ultimately taking the victory by 1 point ending with 13-12, ending the Sharks 2023 season. 245,000 tuned in. 

On the ABC, Grantchester was viewed by 334,000 as Will found himself in trouble in the middle of nowhere.  Vera saw 288,000 as Vera investigated the death of a poacher with a single gunshot wound.

10 aired The Dog House Australia to 159,000 as the program met with a high-energy kelpie who was looking for a new owner.

SBS aired Tony Robinson’s History of Britain to 64,000.

On Fox League, the Roosters beat the Sharks 13-12 in front of 263,000, while the Panthers smashed the Warriors 32-6 in front of 202,000 at BlueBet Stadium in Penrith.

Fox Footy saw Brisbane smash Port Adelaide by 48 points as 220,00 tuned in. The other game on Fox Footy saw 170,000 tune in as GWS beat St Kilda by 24 points.
