TV Ratings October 21, 2022: Better Homes and Gardens rakes in a win

Nine has narrowly claimed the network share win with 28.8%

A Current Affair on Nine was the top program on total TV, increasing by 5% to reach a total audience of 749,000. 

Gardening Australia on ABC enjoyed a lift of 16% to reach 636,000 people, while Better Homes and Gardens on Seven rose 6% for a 662,000 viewer reach.

Frankly on ABC had the highest lift on overnight with 16% to reach an audience of 384,000.

Nine has narrowly claimed the network share win with 28.8% followed by Seven with 27.9%, while Seven won the primary channel share with 20.2%. On the multichannels, 7TWO won the night with a 3.6% share. 

A Current Affair on Nine claimed the top spot for the night after the primetime news programs, clocking 468,000 views. The program met with people coming out of retirement to help with the employment crisis. Later in the night, the network aired Taronga: Who’s Who in the Zoo with 277 000 views.

Seven’s Better Homes and Gardens was Friday’s top entertainment program bringing in 397,000 viewers, as Ed cooked up a porterhouse steak with Korean-style gochujang chilli sauce with Tuscan kale, while Dr Harry dealt with a dog struggling to get through its doggy door. Additionally, The Chase brought in 395,000 views. 

On ABC, Gardening Australia reached 385,000 viewers as the team visited a couple cultivating their relationship and their garden. Later in the night, Fran Kelly’s new chat show Frankly, which saw Magda Szubanski and Richard Roxburgh battle it out at table tennis, clocked 322,000 views.

On 10, The Living Room saw Amanda challenge Miguel to make Australia’s favourite family dinner bringing in 244,000 views.

Secrets of the Lost Liners was the most-watched program on SBS, with 101,000 views.

Fox Cricket claimed the top three spots on subscription TV with its ICC T20 cricket coverage. Zimbabwe went head-to-head with Scotland, pulling in 79,000 views. In addition, the Live Innings Break reached 57,000 views.

On Sky News Live, Credlin reached 41,000.
