• MasterChef sends another cook home ahead of team merge

Total TV Ratings: May 12
A lift of 23% has meant that Home and Away takes the crown, bringing in 950,000 viewers. Also on Seven, Big Brother continues to pull big numbers in Total TV, rising 48% for a total audience of 797,000. The Front Bar also performed well, rising 20% for a total of 505,000.
On 10, MasterChef rose 25%, bringing 832,000 along to watch Ali win immunity.
The biggest rise for the night came from SBS’s Holding, a crime drama adapted from Graham Norton’s novel of the same name. The May 12th episode lifted a whopping 140%, for a total audience of 451,000.

Nine has won the night with a primary share of 20.6% and a network share of 28.1%. A share of 4.1% has meant that 7TWO has topped the night in multichannels.
On Nine, A Current Affair aired concerns over the future of Metricon and searched for the Liberal Candidate missing in action on the election frontline for 666,000 viewers. On Thursday night NRL (362,000) the Newcastle Knights hosted the Brisbane Broncos, but some contentious calls and a runaway Broncos team in the final minutes saw the visitors get the win 36-12. Outside of the NRL heartland, RBT brought in a crowd of 226,000.
Seven’s Thursday night Home and Away triple header saw an average of 461,000 for the first two episodes, with 400,000 sticking around for the late episode. Afterwards, 49,000 made themselves popcorn for movie night, watching 2019’s Spider-Man: Far From Home. In Melbourne, The Front Bar brought in 338,000, making it the top non-news show in the market.
On 10, The Project (244,000 6:30pm / 360,000 7pm) asked how politicians will solve the housing affordability crisis, and spoke to homegrown hero Flume ahead of the Friday morning release of his newest album, Palaces. After a tough elimination challenge, 508,000 watched as Jenn left the MasterChef kitchen, the last to do so before the teams combine on Sunday. 313,000 stuck around afterwards to watch the judges in action with the MasterClass.
7.30 began the evening for the ABC, with Leigh Sales and Laura Tingle unpacking a big day on the election campaign trail for 490,000 viewers. Foreign Correspondent had 357,000 tune in for an episode speaking to people who had been abandoned by their Saudi fathers, before Q+A brought in a crowd of 291,000.
On SBS the highest rating show was World’s Most Scenic River Journeys with 166,000 tuning in.
