• The Larkins tops entertainment in later time slot
Total TV Ratings, March 17
ABC’s Under The Vines topped total TV, increasing 37%, delivering an audience of 564,000 as Daisy and Louis learn that running a vineyard will take hard work and sacrifice.
ABC continued its total TV success, with The Larkins rising 17% for 546,000.
Nine’s Space Invaders came in next, with an increase of 19% to reach 442,000.
Overnight TV Ratings, March 25
In a close night, Seven has come out on top with a network share of 29.8% and a primary channel share of 19.3%. Thanks to election night, ABC News had a 9.4% share, while ABC enjoyed a network share of 26.3%.
Seven’s Saturday night AFL won the night, pulling in 311,000, with 176,000 residing in Melbourne as St Kilda defeated the Western Bulldogs for a 14.8 (92) to 5.11 (41) victory. In NSW, Seven’s NSW election coverage pulled in 57,000 viewers. Earlier in the night, Border Security – Australia’s Front Line had 160,000 as an agitated passenger became enraged at being searched.
ABC News’ NSW Votes: Election Results Live topped the election coverage, with 220,000 tuning in to watch Labor’s Chris Minns become NSW’s new premier, while earlier coverage had 189,000. The Larkins was the top entertainment program of the night with 281,000, despite airing in a later time slot.
On Nine, A Current Affair reached 300,000 as a 13-year-old girl who was attacked and held captive by girls her own age spoke to the program about her terrifying ordeal. Later in the night, Space Invaders pulled in 184,000, despite not airing in Sydney. Additionally, Getaway clocked 224,000 as the team went kayaking with dolphins in the heart of Adelaide. Nine’s NSW election vote count had 105,000.
On 10, 167,000 tuned in to 10 News First, while 96,000 tuned into The Dog House Australia.
The highest-rated non-news show on SBS was The World’s Most Beautiful Landscapes, with 101,000.
STV
Fox League dominated subscription TV with its NRL coverage. Topping the night was the Rabbitohs v Sea Eagles with 329,000, as the Rabbitohs dominated the Sea Eagles 13-12. Later in the night, the Cowboys defeated the Titans 24 -12 in front of 264,000. Over on Fox Footy, Super Saturday Round 2 pulled in an audience of 213,000.
