Seven’s ICC WTC Final D3 S1 topped total TV, increasing by 3% to reach a total audience of 723,000. 

ABC had the program with the highest lift on total TV as Utopia lifted 75% for 510,000. 

On Nine, A Current Affair increased by 8% to deliver a total TV audience of 785,000.

Overnight TV Ratings, June 16

Nine dominated the Friday night shares with a primary channel share of 27.5% and a network share of 40.5%, while GEM won the multichannels with 7.1%.

In the AFL, The Brisbane Lions went head-to-head with the Swans to claim a 16-point victory in front of 348,000 on Seven’s Friday Night AFL. 178,000 Melbourne residents tuned in to watch the match. Earlier in the night, The Chase aired to 496,000, while Better Homes and Gardens, topped entertainment for Seven with 387,000.

Nine’s Friday night NRL pulled in an audience of 280,000 as the Cowboys showed up the Panthers ending 27-23. Nine’s top program of the night was the first test for the Mid Year Ashes with England going head-to-head with Australia, with 554,000. A Current Affair saw 536,000 as the program met with Aussie seniors refusing to leave their aged care home.

On ABC, Gardening Australia topped entertainment with 323,000, as the team met a gardener growing a fulfilling career in Canberra. 

On 10, 166,000 tuned into The Project, while 165,000 watched Chappo and Jack race to help a man with agonising chest pains on Bondi Rescue.

The highest-rated non-news show on SBS was New Zealand from a Train, with 121,000.

STV

Fox League topped the STV chart for Friday with the Cowboys beating out the Panthers. The final score was 27-23. 254,000 tuned in for the match. 

The Brisbane v Sydney match on Fox Footy came in second on subscription TV, clocking 180,000 views. Brisbane won by 16 points at the GABBA closing out the game 97-81.
