Seven’s Better Homes and Gardens topped total TV, increasing by 5% to reach a total audience of 721,000.
ABC had the program with the highest lift on total TV as Utopia lifted 110% for 334,000.
On Nine, A Current Affair increased by 7% to deliver a total TV audience of 754,000.
Overnight TV Ratings, July 28
Seven just inched out the Friday night primary channel shares with 22.7% and Nine won the network share section with 35.2%. GEM won the multichannels with 8.2%.
In the AFL, Carlton went head-to-head with Collingwood as the game ended 93-76 in front of 472,000 on Seven’s Friday Night AFL. 287,000 Melbourne residents tuned in to watch the match. Earlier in the night, The Chase aired to 465,000, while Better Homes and Gardens, topped entertainment for Seven with 381,000 as Graham visited the national arboretum in Canberra ahead of National Tree Day.
Nine’s Friday night NRL pulled in an audience of 204,000 as the Storm showed up the Eels ending with 46-16. Nine’s top program of the night was A Current Affair which saw 448,000 tune in as the program saw the man accused of murdering teenager Shyanne-Lee Tatnell as he faced court. The Fifth Test of The Ashes Session 1 also saw 431,000 viewers tune in.
On ABC, First Weapons topped entertainment with 195,000, as the program discovered and investigated the Kodj.
On 10, 206,000 tuned into the new episode of Location, Location, Location and Have You Been Paying Attention? clocked 139,000 viewers.
The highest-rated non-news program on SBS was World’s Most Scenic River Journeys with 83,000.

Fox Footy topped the STV chart for Friday with Carlton beating out Collingwood. The final score was 93-76. 210,000 tuned in for the match.
The Storm V Eels match on Fox League came in second on subscription TV, clocking 183,000 views. The match ended 46-16 at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne. The Tigers V Rabbitohs pulled in 181,000 viewers as the Rabbits won 32-18 in Tamworth.
