ABC’s Van Der Valk had the highest lift on total TV, with 48% to deliver an audience of 695,000 as the fatal stabbing of a psychiatrist during the ritual summoning of a demon pulled Piet and his team deep into the world of Ritual Magic.

Gardening Australia increased by 17% to reach 639,000 as Hannah toured a downsized productive patch and Jerry shared bulbs for the subtropics.

On Nine, Friday Night NRL increased 10% for 554,000.

Overnight TV Ratings, April 14

Seven dominated the Friday night shares with a primary channel share of 25.3% and a network share of 37.0%, while 7TWO won the multichannels with 4.0%.

The Sydney Swans went head to head with the Richmond Tigers in front of 484,000 on Seven’s Friday Night AFL. In the inaugural Gather Round, the Swans claimed victory against the Tigers with 18.14 (122) to 11.12 (78), while 232,000 Melbournians tuned in to watch. Earlier in the night, The Chase aired to 344,000, and Better Homes and Gardens had 323,000 as Joh and Pete toured Hutt House, an ultra-sustainable home.

Nine’s Friday night NRL pulled in an audience of 284,000 as the Sea Eagles dominated Storm 18-8. Nine’s top program of the night was A Current Affair, with 456,000, as the program looked inside the car port traffic jam, while Hot Seat had 305,000.

On the ABC, Gardening Australia topped entertainment with 346,000 as Clarence built a mini native wetland and Costa visited a Landcare legacy school. Later in the night, Traces brought in 223,000 as Lab assistant Emma Hedges trains to be a forensic chemist and is on the cusp of seeing her mother’s murder case finally resolved.

On 10, 234,000 tuned into 10 News First, while 177,000 watched the 7pm Project as the team met with comedian Mike Goldstein and chef Jamie Oliver.

The highest-rated non-news show on SBS was Wrecks That Changed The World, with 98,000.

The Sea Eagles v Storm match on Fox League topped subscription TV, clocking 305,000 views. This was followed by the Sharks v Roosters game with 263,000. On Fox Footy, 276,000 tuned in to watch the Sea Eagles defeat Richmond, while Friday Footy on Fox had 262,000.
