Over two nights on Channel Seven and 7plus, Australian Idol’s live Grand Finale will see Denvah Baker-Moller, Amy Reeves, and Dylan Wright give everything in a bid to cement their place in Australian Idol history.
The Australian Idol Grand Finale live performance show premieres at 7pm on Sunday 24 March and the live grand final results are at 7:30pm on Monday 25 March on Seven and 7plus.
The live shows will feature Australian stars including Guy Sebastian, Sam Fisher, Delta Goodrem, Morgan Evans, ARIA-Award winner Conrad Sewell, and Marica Hines.
The winner of Australian Idol will receive a recording contract with Sony Music Entertainment Australia and $100,000 in prize money.
In the second last episode of the season, Denvah acknowledged making the Grand Finale was a bittersweet moment: “I always take so long to process; my heart just went with Ivana then. I’m so excited Australia. Thank you. I went on this thinking I’m just a country singer, but maybe I’m the country singer not just a country singer anymore.”
Denvah put her unique country spin on a rendition of Tina Turner’s Simply The Best, as Hines reflected on Denvah’s first audition and praised her “for staying true to who she is.”
Despite being eliminated from the show just before the Grand Finale, 20-year-old Ivana Illic told Chattr she is grateful for the opportunity Australian Idol has given her, as well as the new group of friends she has made.
She revealed that the group of contestants of which she was part was an important part of her journey.
“The group of friends that I’ve made, it’s crazy to think that during the Top 30 week, I only spoke to one person and now I’m really close to the rest of them,” she said. “I think everyone was a bit more shy and didn’t even really know each other yet. But I’m so happy that it turned around.”
Australian Idol is produced for the Seven Network by Eureka Productions.
