In the week of the volume two release, The sci-fi series came in 141.4 points above average in Australia and 65.01 points in New Zealand. A Stranger Things season five has been confirmed, but will be the final season in the series.
Season three of The Boys on Amazon Prime has ranked second in Australia and New Zealand for a fifth week, with 35.68 points and 28.53 points, respectively. The season three finale has been confirmed for July 8, with talks of a season four production commencing soon.
Disney+’s Obi-wan Kenobi, maintains its position in third place across the board. In Australia, the latest instalment in the Star Wars franchise came in 26.53 points above average and 22.04 points in New Zealand.
Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy has fallen from fourth to fifth in Australia after its season three release on June 22, with a difference of 22.05 points. The superhero series is based on the comic book series of the same name and stars Elliot Page, Aidan Gallagher and Robert Sheehan.
In Australia’s digital original series, Our Flag Means Death has moved up the ranks, coming in at fourth with 22.59 points above the market average. HBO Max confirmed a second season a month ago after a long-running campaign to renew the series by fans.
In Australia’s overall TV shows, Better Caul Saul has ranked fourth with a difference of 23.15. Over in New Zealand’s overall TV shows, Love Island UK remains at fourth with 21.9 points, while Last Week Tonight With John Oliver placed fifth with 18.77 points.
In New Zealand’s digital originals, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds took out the fourth spot, clocking 18.26 points above average. In the overall TV shows, season 8 of Love Island UK placed fourth with 22.12 points above the market average.
